Hi Larry...
From experience here....any of the BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) motors are
more expensive to build just due to parts availability and aftermarket
support. The good news is that people are getting smarter and realizing
what these motors are all about and I have noticed a significant increase in
support. Not from my local machine shop...lol...

I was looking around for another 455 and have had several people tell me
that the pontiac parts and motors are more expensive than olds 455s and
buick
455s because there are so many of those 2 around still (the olds and
buick) because they run forever and the pontiacs don't last. I have never
blown
up a pontiac motor yet! pontiac motors do seem to be higher priced for the
most part,but it also could be because they are better?? I did find
several supposedly running olds and buick 455s for just a few hundred
dollars..
what do u guys think or have found??thanx Larry
