I think you have blown this completely out of proportion. It is admirable that you are sticking up for Arnt, and linking your two fates together. But Arnt is welcome here and so are you. What people are objecting to is that very frequently (some might say all too frequently) Arnt blesses us with his particular sense of humor that most of us just don't get. Usually that is the sign of an extra intelligent person, or someone that's just really disturbed :-) you can decide that for yourself. Often the posts don't seem on topic, or don't seem to contain any useful nugget of contribution to the discussion ... in those cases we are probably just missing the joke. People here are calling for more on topic postings (and perhaps occasionally more thoughtful postings.) And in this case it's not a knee jerk reaction to a single post, but an accumulation of posts over the years that have pushed a couple list members over their tipping point. So of course everyone is welcome here. We just ask that people remember that this is the flightgear-users mailing list and make their best attempt to keep their postings relevant to the usage of FlightGear. If you have an especially clever or funny comment that strays far from the original topic, perhaps consider emailing it directly to a few individuals you know would appreciate the joke rather than the entire list. As with anything, we are just seeking a reasonable balance in what is discussed here.
