Question # 2 is about the Wallstreet. Since I could install the laserprinter, I would like to go for the old scanner too. How do I go from the USB to the Wallstreet? I do not see anything obviously compatible--at least to me...

<http://lowendmac.com/services/>For USB on a Wallstreet you should buy a PC card ( PCMCIA to be exact but also called Cardbus card) that fits into the PC slot on the left hand side of your Wallstreet.
Something like this
http://cgi.ebay.com/USB2-0-4-Ports-CardBus-PCMCIA-Card-Adapter-Power-Cable_W0QQitemZ390056153530QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5ad12891ba
and it doesn't have to be a Mac specific one nor require drivers either.
Just make sure you have the right printer driver for your OS and you should be good to go. I suggest a four port card because in my Wallstreet I have the same with my printer attached, a USB mouse ( I hate using laptop trackpads for more than a minute ) and I always seem to have a flash drive plugged in as well leaving just one port spare.

******** BE CAREFUL !! *******

Not all USB - PC Card adapters will work on a Wallstreet running OS-9 and earlier.

USB Port adapters support either 'EHCI and UHCI', or 'EHCI and OHCI' standards:
To be fully compatible with the Wallstreet, your PC-Card must support 'EHCI and OHCI'.

The difference is significant.
A Wallstreet running OS-X should work with any EHCI card, i.e. all the above cards.
A Wallstreet running OS-9 and earlier will work only with the 'OHCI' cards

See explanation here:

I found suitable cards by searching Google with search phrase 'USB Port Cardbus OHCI' (without the quotes)

Following entry from Amazon would be the correct item:

hope this helps..
