I'm waiting for the iPad to replace my Pismo. Then, my "old buddy"
is going to my parents as an on-the-go supplement to the iMac G4 800
15" I bought them (and I sometimes use). I just ordered a 512 MB RAM
card to bring the total RAM on this thing up to 768 MB, as well as a
new battery to boost its daily time between charges (I currently have
a 6600 mAH battery, now down to 5320 mAH after a little less than a
year—now I see why the lifespans of the new MacBook batteries are so
impressive).
The reason I'm getting an iPad instead of a MacBook (MacBook Pros
are popping up everywhere on my campus) is the fact that I'm around
powerful desktops (14x iMac 2.66 GHz 10.5.8, 1x HP Pavilion a6400f @
2.2 GHz and Win 7 64 Ultimate) most of the time and only need
something mobile to write, surf the web, and email with. The 10-hour
battery life really won me over, along with the new iWork suite. Heck,
I knew that the iPad would be my perfect match the moment I saw it
(man, I really need a girlfriend).

Thanks,
FFF
