If you get it working (I believe there is a newer version out) I would appreciate an e-mail or at least a posting on the list to let me know what working version you are using. I have known others to use Ubantu and love it. The "try out disk" called "live CD" is a nice way to test it without installing it. I have tried both the "try out" and the install disks without success. The live CD won't boot and the install disk won't boot from YDL.> Hmmmm, well, the CDs aren't here yet, so I haven't gotten to try Ubuntu just yet. However, yes, when I do, I'll be sure to drop you and/or the List an email with the status report. As to YDL, I couldn't find it, and was told that even if I did, it would take a whole week for me to download it on my 56K dialup connection, and then I'd be lucky if it came through without corruption. Since I can't do without a telephone for a week, and also since folks here were recommending Ubuntu -- and then I found out Ubuntu would send free CDs for the asking (though it would take a month to actually get them)...that's why I gave up on YDL and requested the Ubuntu CDs.
