In Aurora reptiles, spiders and rabbits are all banned. It is an old bylaw
and the bylaw officer, who knows about my critters, pretends that he knows
nothing. Its a bit hard as I have taught classes int he local school, lirary
and beaver/brownie/guide groups for years. Including his grandchildren.
The Toronto bylaws are now fair in spite of or despite Animal Alliance and
Zoocheck. This is thanks to the work of (alphebetic order) Domenic Clark,
Grant Crossman, Steve Marks and the Exec of the Ont. Herp. Society,(
Margaret and Carole Both) also honourable mention to the Toronto Zoo and Dr
Murphy from the Royal Ontario Museum. If the animal alliance and zoocheck
had had their way even most of the gecks would have been banned not to
mention all snakes, most lizards, turtles, amphibians, tropical fish, birds
arachnids, crusateans etc. The list is WAY too long. All educational
programs would have been banned as well. They lost.
