That makes logical sense as a request, although I don't know how our business development team will react to it. :-) In any negotiation, in order to get something you have to give something, and we can never have all that we want. Therefore, in order for this to be something we fight for in contracts, we need good reasons why we are keen that it happens. So, before I email them to ask, can we quickly enumerate the list of reasons why we want this? - It allows users to choose the best language for them, which may not be one of the official languages of the sales territory; - It is consistent with Mozilla's commitment to user choice; - ...? > If space is a problem, we should develop a way to be able to include most > common locales and add the ability to download user preferred locale on > first run on demand. My understanding from this discussion is that such a mechanism is in the works (although it may not be simple for Mozilla to provide complete language packs for phones which have been customized by OEMs or carriers and new strings added).
