Hi, As discussions in this forum is well archived, let me remind the timeline of this particular discussion briefly. The man accusing others for making Samskarika nayakar the debating point instead of Chitralekha's resistence himself raised the issue first on July 19!
wher r they? Sara joseph, Ajita, Azhikode, kadammanaitta, vinayachandran and other socio-cultural leaders -- R [July 19] I had a genuin protest on this issue [ which I have been articulating for long] and tried to raise it in response. I find that a comensensical / apolitical response as we are simultaneously making 'cultural leaders' supermen and superwomen and forgrting that it is the responsibility of everybody to take up such issues. Thus my querstion. Isn't it a fascist move to demand response from certain people on all issues? D [ July 19] In reply, not arguments, but certain labels were offered to me! Such labelling [ attacking the writers instead of their arguments] foreclose even the posiibility of any debate. So I was compelled to protest. i dont expect any thing from either dileep raj or sara josesh or ajitha as i am very clear abt to what extent these people can go as far as dalit cause is concerned... R [July 19] just because I questioned your way of attacking certain individuals, you brand me as a 'Samskarika Nayakan' and made "Dileep Raj" into an issue!!! Thses are the worn out atrategy of a section of the "Samskarika Nayakar' in Malayalam print media. D [ July 21] Then, all of a sudden, he claims that he was 'irritating' people to seek attention on this issue. If he truly believed that his attack on SaraJoseph, Azhekkode, Ajitha etal [ my heroes and heroins!!!! inyum endellam kelkkanamo aavo!!!! ] provoked me, I might have taken it as a joke. But he tried to evade the concrete question I raised through such strategies. When I strongly protested against this undemocratic way of debating and decided to withdraw from further engagement with him, he came up with certain strange explanations. my intention to "irritate " people through this discussion forum was to focus the attention of this small group into some invisible side of kerala discourses... R [ July 21] .... it's not the first time that people like y run away R [ July21] I admit that I am a coward and have little time for ego games. I wish Sri. K.M.Venugopal give the phone numbers of Payyannur CPI M office/ leaders to this brave man so that he could begin a fruitful discussion by 'irritating' them. I assure you that they are equally brave and there will be effective follow up. I am not an institution, but an individual as powerless [though coward] as these crusaders but am not afraid to resist violations against my rights in a situation. [ Sometime back, somebody was saying that an abuse to Devika 'taught' us many useful things!! Strange indeed, that personal abuse not arguments are strengthening democracy here!! I can't act as something which I am not in this virtual world just for the sake of ego satisfaction to certain frustrated minds] I admit that I used abusive language in retaliation. I apologise to the whole community for that. I am just pointing out that the provocation preceded the response. [ In Kannur villages there is a peculiar indeginous technic to 'deal' political opponents. In a CPIM village when a Congress sympathiser -- or any other person whom they target for attacking -- walks through the street somebody will go near him and murmour abusive remarks about wife/ mother of a congress leadrer. Poor guy will retort , which will natuarally be audible to all. The CPIM gang waiting around will pounce on him and start brutal attacking!!! The news spread about it will be that Congressman abused our leader and comrades 'peacefully ' questioned it!!] Sorry, if I am proliferating jokes. The whole episode is being reported by Venugopal in this very forum as follows. Excellent joke [ though fascist to the core] Abrupt attempts to excommunicate anybody who tries to raise a minority point of view ,would also need to be identified as originating from the status quoist mode (of relegating real issues to the back and exhibiting petty egos to the fore [ today. 2.18 pm] Sorry, I am not averse to jokes. So let me retell a Mulla story. Mulla was searching for something under the street light.People gathered around him asked what he was looking for. Some money lost, he said. "Are you sure that you lost it here?" "No, but there is some light here!" Isn't this business of 'irritating' the group members and accusing them about 'running away' similar exercise? I know my responses are masculine while somebody provokes me. I am frustrated while witnessing the destrusction of the little light [ democracy] found in this space. Unfortunately, I am not fortunate enough to have the company of somebody like Arunima who bravely did the retaliation act in support of Devika earlier!
