i wanna raise the issue of Dalit/subaltern refering chitralekha issue, as a continuation of wht Mr Venugopal wrote. and i begun by raising the quesion of silence and invisibility.... i have mentioned it in my previous mails and dont want to repeat all those things again.. i want to make it clear that i have nothing personal against dilip or others, though i critisice them severely... (see i know Anivar, but that doesn't meant that i cant critisice him) i never met Venugopal, dilip, anil, rafeek and others... when differences arise in a heated debate it's quite 'natural' to expect 'verbal violence' 'violence' indicate that there is some probelm it shows the breaks in the commensensical homogenous linearity of history/writing/reading and many times it become s the only weapon for the downtrodden to fight the subtle, but cleverly placed 'violence' of caste hegemonies in public/private spheres as one Black writer wrote (quoting from memory) that if i dont call a racist white a 'bastard' , i am not black..."
