Wil I have to agree with you. Serotek did turn a potentially disastrous situation into a very positive one and now is viewed by more and more people as a serious player in the screen reading industry with some very innovative products. Hopefully, GWmicro can work out something from this patent infringement claim into a positive. Hopefully, over time, coolheads and sanity will prevail as we need healthy competitors in this industry striving to make gains not through dragging their competitors through the mud but through product improvements. As a user, I want more, not less choices, as that is what keeps products striving to better themselves and keeping them on the cutting edge. While quite obviously I have no means of understanding patent law and how one company can unintentionally infringe on the rights of another, this kind of stuff has a very chilling impact as perhaps what this means is that software has to be reviewed by legal technicians as well -- not an easy thing to do I am certain.
