Hallo Ralph, the Siegfried solo on this recording was not played by one of the principal players, but by their 2nd horn player. Have to did out his name. He told me that personally. I also doubt if the Tylsars were members of the Prague Phil in 1968, but according to Vladimira Klanska, whom I contacted by phone two minutes ago, it could be, that Zdenek Tylsar (NOT BEDRICH Tylsar, who was in the Munich Philharmonic & later in the Prague Symphony FOK) just had joined the Prague Phil replacing stroke hit Vladimir Kubat. So he could have played the Mahler 5 but not this Ring recording. But Vladimira Klanska was not 100% sure about, as she had her files not with her.
