You can set Classic to start when you log into your Mac. Or, if you never log out, just start Classic once, and leave it running. There is no reason to stop Classic when you aren't using an OS 9 application. I have Classic running all the time since I use Claris Emailer for my email. With the exception of Classic crashing about once a week and needing to be Force Quit, I have no problems leaving it running 24x7. When I want to check my email, I just start Emailer and check it. No waiting for Classic to start, no nothing, it runs, just like any other OS X application. Actually, I've never really understood why people say they hate using Classic applications. To me, they just work, like everything else. The only down side I've found to them is if one Classic app crashes, it takes all Classic apps down with it (same as if booted into OS 9 directly). But that isn't a big deal because you just quit and restart Classic... OS X isn't bothered by it at all. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
