Somewhere around v4 or v5, when Quark found they were dominating Mac desktop publishing... they turned Microsoftian. They started churning out unstable crap and didn't care in the least if they made customers happy. Quark 6 has been an absolute NIGHTMARE on OS X. I'd say on 75% of the machines I've dealt with it on, it spends more time crashing then actually working. And on probably 1 out of 10 that I've had to install it on, it just simply doesn't run, period. I'm usually lucky on those if I can even get it to install at all, but if I can, it just crashes as soon as it tries to start.
