Well, that's a no-oranges comparison, but even so...

...it has always been and remains the best practice to use RAID 0+1 if
budget allows, RAID 1 otherwise. But under load, RAID level can't save
you on its own; you also must dedicate as many drive spindles as
possible to as many separate functions as possible.
