If you had quoted more of the statement I bet it would look a whole
lot less ominous to most folks:

"It is suggested customers use IIS in place of the SmarterMail Web
Server. IIS provides greater security and stability options than the
SmarterMail web server. The intended purpose of the SmarterMail Web
Server is so that the product is fully functional even without the
existence of IIS. "

Its hard to resist a web mail client that lets you do wysiwyg email.
I've had about enough of Imail's blasted textarea boxes. And for a
product thats priced like this it sure is making it easy for me to
give it a try. For $150 I can get hold of a fully functional 250-user
edition? And a free trial is there?

I have a client that uses SM to send out his daily newsletter. About
2000 pieces daily. Not much more than that. I've played with that SM
just a bit but its an older version. Probably not representative of
the current v2.x.

Merak seems to be the big kid on the block and SmarterMail is the
promising upstart.
