It's like additional stuff thats streamed in from the new launcher.
THeres 3 sections for it, the first section of files are needed in
order to even start WoW, the next section is I guess the gemoertry of
lands and stuff, you can play without it, but you'll have longer load
times for instances and other things. The last part is some other
stuff like items maybe? Idk... I'm sure it's explained somewhere
better lol.
