Some UK politicians are making out like we have just a couple of hard years ahead of us and then things will be better again. I am thinking it may take decades to fully get over this mess. Some of the UK problems are fundamental and will not get better until the country makes some hard choices. One of the biggest being the number of people who won't work and are living much too well off welfare. In addition the UK has been much two complacent about their standard of living and economic ability. In the mean time so many other countries are catching up and even overtaking the UK in terms of skills as well as having a much better work ethic. If the people of the country expect to have a good standard of living they need to expect to work hard and study hard so that the UK again becomes competitive in a global economy. If the UK never faces up to this I think it is just in a downward spiral. I think a lot of the rising coming generation have been spoiled by a long period of relative prosperity and the likely hard times ahead will come as a shock.
I believe the UK will survive but don't know at what level it will survive and how bad things may get in the mean time. For my part I don't care about being rich. I mean that I really don't. All I am looking for it to have a bit of stability especially as I am still relatively early in my career. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
