A friend of mine in Central Illinois (USA) has also been trying to hire another GIS developer on his team for some period of time. I wonder if this is maybe a good area to move into, for a developer looking to pick up some new skills with the intention of a change in their area of specialization? Is there something going on with US federal or state spending that I'm simply unaware of that means there are "a lot" of GIS jobs right now for some reason?
