What happened was there was a protest march for the shooting, this was a
peaceful march and the policing was anything but rough - the police had a
very small presence precisely to prevent antagonism. What then happened was
a bunch of idiots (I have heard it was the anarchist lot) hijacked the march
and started the violence.

But don't let the facts get in the way of your political agenda!

I am not TRYING to link it to the guy that got shot. I am actually. I dont
think its a coincidence he got shot by the police the same day this started.
But thats my opinion only. Apparently another trigger was rough policing to
a peaceful protest that demanded justice. Maybe its a clue that rough
policing will trigger further violent escalations?

Citizen: "A legally recognized subject or national of a state or
commonwealth, either native or naturalized."

However I take your point this has been abused by a vast majority of people
who are not linked to the initial incident. A bit like hooligans that go to
football games to pick a fight, not to watch football.

I also agree that waving a shooting arm at police is asking for trouble. I
wouldnt want to be the police officer having to make that call.

Cheers,

Eric

I wouldn't call the people who are looting and rioting as "citizens".

Luckily it seems to be being brought under control now, but if it wasn't
then there is a very good risk of some of us citizens standing up to them
ourselves, and that could indeed be called a civil war.

And again, let's not try and link what is happening with the shooting in
Tottenham, it is totally unrelated and the vast majority of those looting
wouldn't even know the blokes name. The bloke who was shot was waving
around a firearm, so let's also not infer that this was another innocent
victim or police brutality.

maybe they re not using plastic bullets because they dont want to risk
killing kids? After all this did start by someone being shot by the police.
tear gas wont kill anyone so maybe thats a better idea.

I note that quite a few people wants the army involved however I d say that
putting the army against your own citizens is similar to a civil war in many
respects.
I understand these are riots but hey... Hence I agree this is a job for the
police and not the army.
