Initially we were using packet queueing in cisco switches which worked fine, but now have full QOS.. Quality of audio/data service isn't really problem, and the nortel solution uses a 'Wireless Telephony Controller' between the switch and Wifi access points that fakes full duplex/QOS as 802.11 dosn't do either particularly well. I don't want to publicly slander Telecom, seeing as I've already named them as the vendor, so I wont go into detail. In the vaguest of terms there were some compromises in the design and implementation. I signed off on the spec, so I was/am part of the problem in the business sense, but at some point the vendor should be tell us we're stuffing popcorn up a dead goats nose instead of fiddling around with the thing trying to make it work for 2 years. Cheers, Me.
