NGE had a character for lolita fans to fixate on. It doesn't need anything more than that. It's like doing a websearch and discovering that there's more Sasami porn than there is of Ryoko and Aeka combined (dunno if it's true or not, but I think I vaguely remember someone mentioning that it probably is). It doesn't matter what the story does with the characters. It's what the fans (and I use the term loosely here...) do with them.
As for SEED sequels...
They still need to explain that damn space whale! You don't introduce something like that without giving us some information on how it got out there in the first place!
Sadly, Destiny never shed any light on it.

Yeah! Wait...what? Kiddie porn? Erm...look Doc, I'm normally the last
one to defend Eva, but how do you get porn out of it? Spineless main
character, check. Garbled religious symbolism that's largely
unintelligible, check. Stupid fans who are more interested in a
pretty mess than in a legitimate end to the story, check. But kiddie
porn? I don't even remember any nudie bits.
It *definitely* doesn't need a sequel,
but I mostly thought that about SEED as well (and in all honesty, I
thought it about First Gundam as well; I liked Zeta and even CCA, and
I've heard good things about Victory, but I really don't see the
point. But on the upside, at least the sequels after CCA had the
decency to use different characters. That takes a lot of the sting
out of the whole retread of old ideas bit).
