Yes, I'll admit that I enjoyed SEED also even if it wasn't a truly "great"
show. As for Destiny, definitely not well thought out and it's quickly
squandering all the promise that it's initial setup (a.k.a. Shin the
angry-but-heart-in-the-right-place protagonist, Athrun the older-and-wiser
mentor, etc.....) gave it.
In fact, it's funny how the Impulse and the Strike really come out as
metaphors for each show. With SEED and the Strike, it's pretty basic and as
a solid design that holds up well even as the weapons, tactics, characters,
and the plot develops. As for the Impulse, it's Byzantine mecha nightmare
that seems to be too overdone to work right every time.
And now that I'm up to DVD 6 of Destiny, I'm afraid that IS the
case...................
