Hi, all,
FYI - Reading from the Coast Guard publication "Federal Requirements &
Safety Tips for Recreational Boats," page 33, "Marine Sanitation Devices:" it
says "....the operator must secure the device in a manner that prevents any
discharge. Some acceptable methods are: padlocking.....valves in the closed
position, using non releasable wire tie to hold.....valves in the closed
position, closing .....valves in the closed position and removing handle,
locking the door........to the space enclosing the toilets........"
I've opted for the "wire tie" method on Apella.
Happy Sailing.
