Instead the BBC has plans to show eight special episodes of TOTP2. However Simon Cowell has stepped in to say that he would like to buy the rights to the Christmas special and move it to ITV. Speaking at the National Television Awards last night he said he would approach the BBC possibly tomorrow. This morning the BBC said they havent been approached by Simon. Cowells comments have come to light as a lot of other people have mentioned they would like to see the classic music show back on our screens. The Culture Secretary Andy Burnham and pop act The Ting Tings have both called for the shows return. Top of The Pops was cancelled in 2006, after 42 years on air. So what do you think?
