daan Strebe,

I'm not sure how democratic the decision was to move MapHist from a
listserv to an internet forum, but I had no intention of offending, or
being labeled an anarchist. At Ed Dahl's request, since the term "MapHist"
may be his, the Google group name has been changed from MapHist to Map
History Discussion by Email, at least until a better name is suggested.
Those who choose to participate in it are encouraged to also participate in
the MapHist Forum as their time and/or desire permits. In the meantime, I
hope that Map History Discussion by Email fills a need that proves
temporary, and that a Map History listserv will be reincarnated.
