The dizzy kept eating its top bush. The problem was cured by replacing the
timing case and distributor drive shaft in located in it. The problem was
thus either a bent driveshaft or excess wear in the drive shaft bearing
areas, allowing too much sideplay in the drive shaft. This sideplay over
loaded the top bush in the dizzy. No fault in the EFI bits at all.
