Dave, I could be wrong but I thought that it just can't be done that way around - did someone tell you that it can be done.
A T3/T4B or E is a very good turbo on a FJ (i.e. T3 turbine and T4 compressor and comes with 3 or so trim options) and I cant see why it wouldn't work on a L engine, I just have no first hand experience with turbo L's except for a brief period with a Turbo L18. A T3/T04E with stage 3 trim at 14 psi is definitely an up high turbo on the FJ - full boost comes on at around 3800 rpm and big bang smoke 'em power to 7200 rpm cut-out. A T3/T4E if that spec as quoted is correct is not water cooled, but a T3/T04E is. regards Terry -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of David Andrews Sent: Wednesday, 20 November 2002 7:42 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: T3/T4 G'day, Looking at getting a T3/T4 turbo and manifolds on the side of my L28. The T3 side is the compressor side and the T4 is the turbine. So some questions, this would sound like a low-down turbo? No good up high? I have little clues. Hehe. Is this turbo likely to be water cooled? Anyway I can tell? How much would you guys pay for a freshly rebuilt one?
