A L20ET turbo is a T3, so is a L28ET and therefore is should be a T3/T4 or 04, in fact a L20ET turbo is a very popular real good bolt on and go fast upgrade for a L28, I know of a 280C with one on it and it's very quick for a tank. The L20ET engine isn't what you'd call "that quick". The water connections (holes) are the only way I know how to distinguish a T4 for T04. The AR housing on a genuine Garrett turbo usually (I wont say always) has it's spec written on it, I think I've seen a few Nissan stamped ones with nothing else written on them.

Just going by vague descriptions. He says the turbo bolts to an L20ET manifold. So my gut tells me that its probably a T3 ex side.. would a T4 go onto an L20ET flange? And how can i distinguish a T4 from a T04? Aside from having two more holes (for water) in the middle bit? And is there anyway I can tell the ar housing? Will it say?
