Try changing the actual videodriver (nvidia/nouveau/nv or fglrx/ati - or even try to test it with plain vesa vga). Also, you can run a ssh server there and when the system hangs try getting in by ssh. if you can get in, start to debug... -- Best Regards, Sorin Toma
