Bo is agreeing that he defines the levels as ages
(such as those that have defined an age scale of
stone, copper, iron, etc...). Bo therefore according
to his age scale finds the intellectual age to have
emerged from the social age. With the Greeks being of
the intellectual age when S/O emerged, Bo finds it
reasonable, it would seem, that since another age has
emerged according to Bo, the moq age, and therefore
another level must emerge according to Bo's line of
thinking. This is also why Bo finds it difficult to
understand how the Upanishads also emerged
intellectually, for to Bo, as to Comte, the ages must
be linear, just as his S/O intellectual thinking is
linear, and therefore Bo doesn't understand how
another part of the world, at a different time in
history could possibly emerge intellectually for Bo
wonders in his linear S/O thinking - wasn't it the
Greeks?
