Animals have no culture if that's what you are suggesting. Also, patterns at
all levels are not patterns of DQ. DQ has no pattern. Patterns at all levels
were left in the wake of DQ.

The "motive" of evolution according to Pirsig is to increase versatility and
freedom. We see this throughout evolutionary history as consciousness expanded.

Sorry, don't understand. Humans consist of all four levels plus ability to 
respond to DQ. Cats consist of two levels - inorganic and biological. You 
seem to be saying cats can also be intellectuals. But, I'm sure that can't be
what you mean.
