Well, a number of people have gotten 6.3i with the service pack to
synthesize for the 4000.

What do you mean by "LE"?

I'm pretty sure the 4000 has more logic area.  But the killer thing is
the 96 fully dual-ported block rams, compared to the -50's 21.  I
don't know how the number of multipliers compare.

Also, I may have misunderstood this, but... you know how you can use a
LUT as a 16x1 RAM?  Well, for neither chip can you use ALL luts for
RAM, but the I think the 4000 allows a greater proportion of its LUTs
to be used this way.

Also, the 4000 has more flexible I/O's.
