Or you could remove the metal chassis corner piece located behind the hard drive in the 73/75/7600's. It is not soldered, only pressed in place. Then you can carefully thread the IDE ribbon cable from the PCI card through this new opening to the upper and/or lower drive bay.

yes I did ! and it worked great - after destroying 2 flatcables, I actually slaughtered an old broken 7500 and realised that Oboy - you can take off that metal part.
