It does.

My MacBook Pro Apple warranty booklet gives a list if limitations to the
warranty:

---------------------------------------------------
b. Limitations. The Plan does not cover:

(ii) Damage to the covered equipment caused by accident, abuse, neglect,
misuse (including faulty installation, repair or maintenance by anyone
other than Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider), unauthorized
modification, extreme environment (including extreme temperature or
humidity), extreme physical or electrical stress or interference,
fluctuation or surges of electrical power, lightning, static
electricity, fire, acts of God, or other external causes.
----------------------------------------------------

I would take it that contamination by cigarette smoking would come under
any of: misuse, neglect, other external causes.

If you're looking for the words 'damage caused by cigarette smoking',
you won't find it. Just like you won't find 'damage caused by pissing on
the keyboard' or 'damage caused by inserting bodily parts into ethernet
port'. As far as the manufacturer is concerned, if you piss on the
keyboard, shove the end of your knob into the ethernet port, or allow
prolonged smoking in proximity, and the unit is damaged and needs
repair, you've not looked after it properly and it won't get fixed under
warranty.

That's when I recommend spilling tea over it and claiming on insurance.
