Rajoy and Acebes to chair meeting of EU JAI ministers in Santiago

Spain�s First Vice President and Minister of the Interior, Mariano Rajoy, and the Minister of Justice, Angel Acebes, will preside over the informal summit of European Union Ministers of Justice and the Interior (JAI) to be held in Santiago de Compostela next Thursday and Friday. The meeting is intended to foster the development of the common European space for justice, freedom and security that the Fifteen initiated in recent months.

The Foreign Affairs Ministers have examined a synthesis document presented by the Spanish Presidency, which sets out some of the initiatives put forward by various European countries over the last few weeks.
