Solana emphasises terrorism, Middle East and Afghanistan as priorities

Istanbul, 12 Feb (EFE).- The European Union's Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Javier Solana, has today emphasised that the �three immediate priorities� of the International Community are terrorism, the Middle East and Afghanistan. The EU and the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) can work together decisively, first of all to �eliminate� all kinds of terrorism, said Mr Solana in his speech to today�s opening session of the Forum in Istanbul, attended by the Foreign Ministers of the Fifteen and of the OIC.

Ecofin considers ratification of agreement adopted by Eurogroup to avoid "early warning" procedure against Germany and Portugal

The Economy Ministers of the 12 countries which make up the Eurozone have reached an agreement to spare Germany and Portugal the European Commission's proposed admonishments for having exceeded the budgetary deficit limit laid down in the Stability Pact.
