Yes. That is what a guide is. He can try and guide you but it doesn't mean
you have to appreciate the guidance nor take the advice. You are free to
ignore whatever I write.
Anyway, I think right now the easiest thing for us to do is to move to re2c
without your sources (it should be relatively trivial as it's just a
scanner and we wrote the original regex's) and allow for better
communication to address the issues that were raised (both the team issues
and the license issues) when things cool down a bit.
I don't particularly like Andre's suggestion of keeping everything on
group@ because I find that as time has gone by there are many active
contributors on php-dev@ who have a right to be more involved in PHP.
Actually I often find people in the community who are more involved in PHP
than some on the PHP Group. So as I mentioned, it should be in a more
diplomatic and constructive manner but I definitely think that the whole
"PHP Group is sacred" way is not the right way. I think the PHP developers
& community have a lot of great ideas and great inputs (even if some of
these are not things I necessarily agree with) and we should probably
adjust our whole working mechanism.
