Hi! I'm doing the radiation thing right along with you. I don't
think mine is "Novalis", though I'll get more details this afternoon
and post them. I do know that the majority, if not all of the machines
used here at Medical College of Wisconsin are from GE. I tried to do
some online research for the answer, but no luck. I'll just take the
easy way and ask! *L*
I had treatment #9 (of 5-6 weeks/5 days/week) yesterday of external
beam low dose radiation. The side effects I've had so far are a
horrible headache (caused, we believe, from brain swelling, since it
responded to Decadron) and weakness, which progresses a little more
each day. With the brain swelling came some cognitive "issues", but
they resolved within hours of taking Decadron 4mg tab. I did have to
skip my radiation last Thursday due to the headache..not by MY choice,
but the docs. These folks here are really a fantastic bunch. So
professional and attentive to every detail. With every single treatment
I am asked by every single team member about even the tiniest of side
effects, symptomology or concerns and they don't let me leave until all
issues are resolved or on their way to being resolved. I am a
registered nurse for close to 30 years and I am impressed with the
professionalism and consideration this team possesses and displays.
