Won't work. The power requirements of the 1700W and 1800W differ. Both Brother tech support and one of their local (Portland) dealers told me the LK-1001C is not available. So, scanner and case are going back. Perhaps there's another company with a portable scanner that works on linux. I'll go look for one. Thanks, Rich
