curiosity. I've been reading about it as the 'thing' that will end
microsoft's domination on the desktop. this is around February 1999.
   I was a regular at a chatroom called linux.ph.

rommel feria, vince cagud, migz paraz and the rest of the original
#linux.ph. It helped that Linux 99 was in the works. It sparked interest.

I forgot na. I asked a friend to burn a Red Hat CD for me.

March 1999. I setup a Linux machine so some people could program Java
on that OS. I also setup my box to dual boot with Windows and Red Hat.

Curiosity. I wanted to see what's the competition like. =) Coz I
considered myself a microsoftie at that time. Besides, it wouldn't hurt
    to learn another OS.

I decided that Windows, for all its faults, still rules! Hehe, kidding.
I don't use Linux because I don't have time to tinker around
stuff. I don't even try to program anything anymore. And besides, Linux
    couldn't run Macromedia Flash.

it doesn't crash as often, that much, I have to admit. And besides, its
the most used OS in the ateneo network. i have to learn it.
