By the way
I notice that the single character (from alt+0167)
in my message, became &#65533 when copied into your
message Sean.
That makes me suspect that using any ascii character
greater than 127 might cause problems for non-English
language users, using different code pages.

By the way
I believe the differences of opinion, about whether
using \ is tricky, arise from our differences in talent
for coping with a syntax containing exceptions.

For example when Bruce says "but you only need to use
the escape char in xxx situation, not in yyy situation"
he believes that makes it easier.
For average dummies like me, such variations actually
make it harder.

Similarly Sean, who has proved his unusual ability in
so many messages, is surprised to hear me complain.
S > I'm quite happy with the StandardConfiguration,
S > and I guess that most newbies would be too
and
S> What mess?
S> I can't see any mess at all myself in StandardConfiguration.

That's just human nature.
It's difficult to see why anybody should be challenged
by something which is so easy for you.

Recent threads about this issue make me think I'm not the only
intellectually challenged user here ;-)

Anyway, as Sean says
> it's an already ended story

I agree. Having had my grumble, I'll drop the subject.
:-)
