Other devices work OK. What is shown in System, Device Manager roughly matches yours, but only 2 USB 1.something ports. It ain't the motherboard USB, that doesn't work, I know that for certain, so I've disabled it in the BIOS and removed the original drivers. The current USB is a PCI USB card plugged in the PC. It was recognised, drivers installed and shows up properly in System,Device Manager and recognises when other USB bits and bobs are plugged in. It actually recognises when the printer is plugged in and unplugged and reacts in the usual USB way (new hardware detected...) as long as the printer is switched on.
I've just come to the conclusion that Epson's software just can't talk to this particular USB ports card. What I intend to do when I get time off is to start from scratch again and remove all the boards from the PC, start witht he USB card and install the printer before any other cards are added in case something else installed is getting in the way.
