just my two cents - any filtering system will result in accidentally blocked messages, its the responsibility of the sysadmin to regularly review the blocked the folder
I can't tell from the thread if Razor is being in combination with other methods (we use SpamAssassin with Razor and several RBLs) or directly used to make block/unblock decisions. Anyway, SpamAssassin assigns a score and currently I set the block score at 8 and regularly review folder of 8-10. 7 didn't work because of many Asian ISPs are on blacklists, affecting customers there. Instead of wasting time complaining about Razor or any other filtering system, the easiest thing is to use whitelists and regular reviews. EBay and PayPal email often trigger filters because they use words commonly found in spam such as "congratulations, you won", links, payment requests and methods, etc. If an user considers EFF or other emails important, they will certainly notice and inform the sysadmin. Likewise a responsible sysadmin should regularly review blocked folders Razor and SpamAssasin can be more effective if we all cooperate and collaborate! It is much much better than self-maintained filters which require so much effort and can never be as accurate as those collaborative products. Absolutely - incorrect reporting is a killer. Has anyone found the person(s) who ; reported EFF as spam? Maybe its an opponent (or troublemaker). Does someone actually review trusts of the razor users? Perhaps a minimum trust level could be specified with the Razor-check command to allow more flexilibity by sysadmins? thanks, --Ed ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: SlickEdit Inc.
