What happens if your OS takes a dump and corrupts files or > the file system? Seconded. (And thirded :-) In my day job I support a system that runs a database for a large national UK company. It runs on a RAID-5 array. Back in 2002, the top-of-the-line Adaptec controller developed a fault and scribbled over ALL of the disks.
And auto-syncing packages don't help much if you accidentally delete or overwrite a file. You need a proper backup that is not just a slavish replication of whatever has been done to the primary data. -- cliveb Transporter -> ATC SCM100A ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cliveb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=348 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=38688 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
