The only locomotive in SHABBONA RR's roster that I do not MU with other locomotives is SW-1 #22, because it has an extremely high gear ratio compared to the others. That doesn't mean I can't, because I can and have, just that I don't do it on a regular basis nor do I have need to do so.
The rest of the locomotives, of mixed heritage, run well in MU. Light engines may have a little slack action as they move about, due to slight differences in speed at a given throttle setting, but this is prototypical. Once on a train, they settle down and pull in unison. I use straight DC power, and MU'ing SHABBONA locomotives is a simple matter of "couple up and go".
