John, Although I haven't done much of that yet, one of the big advantages of DCC is approximating the running qualities of various engines. I suspect doing an exact match would be really difficult but I have gotten very close. Thus far I've set starting voltages but haven't gotten into the speed curves or top end voltages. Also if you have some older engines many have the same motors. For instance the original AM FP-7's and several of the Overland engines had the same motor. I ran them together long before DCC with good results. Someplace I have some video of my Overland Mikado and a Southwind Consolidation double heading. I had each one set on a different throttle so I could send whistle signals between engines--worked out pretty neat and was challenge because I was running the camera also--where's that third or even fourth hand!
