Hi Tom, I use fs2004 on my computer using the same techniques that Nick is going to demonstrate quite successfully. Lindsay Cowell - original message - Subject:Re: [Audyssey] flight simulator From: Thomas Ward thomasward1...@gmail.com Date: 09/04/2009 4:07 am Hello Nick, I've noticed there is a lot of discussion about FS 2002. While I know it is the most accessible at this point do you know of any progress with FS X? Reason i ask is that I am using Vista and Windows 7 Beta on my computers here at home and neither of those can run FS 2002. So I was wondering if you have any current news, good news, for those who are trying to get beyond Windows Xp era software and use the current stuff? Re: [Audyssey] MOTA small bug, and a suggestion
Hi, No, it is probably how the programming instructions were written. Keep in mind programming is basically nothing more than feeding the computer a set of instructions to follow. Sometimes those instructions can get called out of order or the processor gets backed up and an instruction gets called too late. Either way the sound or whatever gets called at the wrong time producing a nice runtime bug. Bryan Peterson wrote: The sound bug is actually kind of common in mainstream video games. I have tat old Game Cub Game Simsons: Road Rage and sometimes some of the crash sound effects wil play after the game ends. I think it has to do with how the machine reads the disk. THen at other times someting will happen and the speec will stop for a time, then the next time a character does say something it basically goes nuts and says every line that should have been said up to that point. This can be pretty funny depending on who you picked up in your car and what they would have said. Re: [Audyssey] MOTA Beta 4 Released!
The main purpose of a beta is not to play just for fun. The main purpose is for finding bugs and making sure the game works on a wide variety of machines. Of course, it also gives you a chance to decide whether to buy, and to give you a taste of the game before the full version is marketed. --- Gun control only controls the guns of lawful citizens while placing them in control of the unlawful ones. - Original Message - From: william lomas lomaswill...@googlemail.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Thursday, April 09, 2009 10:48 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] MOTA Beta 4 Released! i will play it again when more levels are out since level 1 is way too easy now On 9 Apr 2009, at 18:43, Bryan Peterson wrote: I like it. Thanks to Scott Shade for giving us the idea and getting us in to simming and for letting us know that this could be done! We are going to do a podcast to demonstrate how flight simulator can be used. But we were thinking of doing it live in a room powered by the TC conference softwear. We would use the BCT chat room because it doesn't get much traffic, but I don't know if the owner would be ok with that. Any ideas? So basicly what we would do is do a live podcast and then take questions after our demo, but we'd also record it and put it up for download as an mp3. So for those who have always wanted to get using Microsoft flight simulator, you'll be able to. We have been able to make the program accessable, as well as the online network vatsim. All this and more will be explained in the podcast; also your questions will be taken. We're still trying to work out a date to do this podcast, as it will take a while to demo everything and our lives are fairly busy. But it will happen soon and I will announce on this list when we'll be having it just as soon as we find a time that works for the 3 of us. If you have any questions, ideas, comments, please write back to this or contact me off-list or on skype. My email address is
Re: [Audyssey] MOTA Beta 4 Released!
Hi Thomas, Thanks for a great beta! MOTA is much easier to play now, using the space bar to pick up items. Only once did I forget to holster my weapon and shot the gun instead of picking up the healing potion . It would be great if the healing potion would break in this case. and Angela could say, Damn I hit the potion! Of course you would have to check first for any creatures in the room. I would like to find something in the room outside the Cyclopes room. Some gold coins would be appropriate as the Cyclopes is known to horde gold. But it will happen soon and I will announce on

Re: [Audyssey] MOTA Beta 4 Released!
Hi Charles, It was no big deal really. I just recovered the source code from my flash drive which had a current copy of the source, made a few additional changes, and recompiled the game. Besides reinstalling/upgrading all of my development tools was one of the first things I did. Smile. Re: [Audyssey] MOTA small bug, and a suggestion
Hi. Only thing I can think of with the torches not going out is some wierd confusion as to whether the game is being stopped or whether I just died and am being restored to the last point. Kind of a funny bug though. - Original Message - From: Thomas Ward To: Gamers Discussion list Sent: Wednesday, April 08, 2009 11:55 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] MOTA small bug, and a suggestion Hi Scott, Yeah, the torch bug is one i've been trying to track down for a while. it happens so infrequently it is hard to pin down, and a bug that doesn't really make much sense because the game tells that sound to stop when exiting and it doesn't always stop. As far as adding staircases to the view menu that's a good suggestion. It probably won't make it in beta 4, but I'll save the idea for a future beta release. Scott Chesworth wrote: Hey Tom, Just had a bash through the beta again to kill a spare few minutes I had. I noticed that when I got to the last room and somehow had all 3 of my lives wasted by the big guy, my torch seemed to keep burning even when I returned to the main menu. This only seemed to happen on expert difficulty level though. Wasn't sure if it was something you were aware of or not. Also a small suggestion. Perhaps stairs (I assume they are stairs) should be announced in the view list along with ledges and doors and suchlike. I can build up a pretty clear picture in my mind of that part of the level now that I know where to head, but the picture would be clearer from the outset if I could find out for sure from the view menu that when my footsteps change I'm on stairs. Just thinking of it from the point of view of a first time player who might be more cautious. [Audyssey] MOTA beta four impressions.
Hi Tom, I found some things in MOTA that I just wanted to ask if they were bugs or not. 1. I can not jump twice in a row. I have to take a step after jumping the first time in order to jump again. Is this a bug? 2. When you draw the sword, sometimes it doesn't play the correct sounds again when you put it away and bring it back out quickly. 3. Why does Angela lose oxygen in the water? I thought it was supposed to be a lake? It doesn't sound like that deep of water, what's it supposed to be? 4. I liked the original arrow sounds better. The way you have it now just doesn't sound right. 5. I tried to load a game, and the intire program was unresponsive. I had to close it with the windows task manager. Thanks, Ryan C. We're still trying to
