That doesn't sound like a JAWS problem at all. It does sound like your control key is stuck which has happened to me before. In fact, I have a key which won't work right now, the caps lock. Re: [Blind-Computing] Using Thunderbird with JAWS
Hi: I had trouble with JAWS giving me no speech input when tabbing through the fields. I also had to remember to turn off the virtual cursor when writing an email. things may have changed since I used tBird, but I'm letting you know my experiences with it. I was not even aware that there were scripts out there for it, so perhaps it would work better now. I agree that Outlook 2007 is a pain, I don't really like it, but that's what I'm stuck with if I don't use thunderbird. sometimes it is slow, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason for the delays. It must be a memory hog like you say. -Original Message- From: blind-computing-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:blind-computing-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Peter Torpey Sent: Tuesday, April 07, 2009 5:56 PM To: blind-computing@jaws-users.com Subject: [Blind-Computing] Using Thunderbird with JAWS Hi, I've been getting really frustrated using Outlook 2007 with JAWS 10. The program slows down my computer a lot, produces error messages when I close it, and gobbles up lots of memory. Anyway, this led me to check out Mozzilla Thunderbird with JAWS. I noticed that there weren't any scripts written for Thunderbird, but the program seems to be reasonably accessible anyway. I'm wondering if other folks are using Thunderbird with JAWS and what kind of success and/or problems people are experiencing before I totally make the switch (or not). Some things I noticed right off: - The Tool bars aren't very accessible (although there are menu pull-downs for most of these functions). - Although I can arrow down the list of mail folders, this list doesn't seem to be navigable by first letter. Thus, one needs to arrow than the list rather than navigate by first letter. This is a pain if there are lots of folders. - Attachments aren't readily sensed by JAWS, although one can use the JAWS cursor or the menu pull-downs to see if there are any attachments, but one needs to look (and expect attachments). Some nice things are: - The program is very responsive, even when there are lots of mail items in one folder. - Using JAWS, certain messages can't be read without performing several steps to open up the message in a web browser. These messages open up and are readable just like any other message in Thunderbird. Anyway, I'm interested to know what others are finding and how frustrated folks may be with Outlook 2007. I've seen my memory usage with Outlook 2007 go from 60,000 kb when first opening Outlook to over 500,000 kb if Outlook 2007 is left open for about a day. Not good, Microsoft! What seems to be happening with me is that once run the Jaws startup wizard and set all the settings per my use and or liking then when either log off my windows xp pro Jaws will default back to the default settings and the speech is very slow at the default setting that it is at when first install Jaws as was when first installed. Then the startup wizard begins all over again. If don't have to log off or restart the computer things are fine; but, once do have to restart or log off the computer then loose all the settings previously set during the startup wizard and have to begin again. If I only install and use the Jaws 10.0installation cd that shipped when Jaws came out things work just fine; but, when upgrade to Jaws 10.0.1142 that's when things seem to go nuts. So just thought would throw this out to see if anyone had any suggestions or had run into the problem too. That and Outlook seem to be working fine after the update to 10.0.1142., but now JAWS can't seem to access combo boxes. I tell you, I am coming close to throwing this stupid computer out the window. [Blind-Computing] I know why I can accessXm site
Hi: When my husband reinstalled XP a couple weeks ago we failed to make sure I had Adobe flash player. That's why those stupid flash messages weren't opening for me and I could actually navigate the site. I can't play most videos on Youtube or just about anywhere for that matter. I do wish I had 2 computers. At any rate, if anybody wants content off of the site such as the channel lineup emailed to them privately I would be more than happy to do that for you. Just let me know. You would think it wouldn't be that hard to have a link to a flash free site as Sirius did years ago. You could have it either way. take care. Re: [Blind-Computing] Jaws making some crackling sounds
Hi: This happened to me a few years ago when I was running JAWS 5 or 6. It sounded like a scratchy record only when JAWS speech was going. when I quit typing it would stop also. It seemed that it was a somewhat inicompatible sound card. We changed the card and I haven't had it since. Since you already had that sound card installed though I would be inclined to believe that maybe the three of them together are arguing, so to speak. Jacob Kruger wrote: Are you 100% sure it's jaws doing the crackling thing, or maybe just the fact that it makes the most sounds, while it's actually the speakers/sound card doing the crackling? Firstly, if you have speakers attached to that computer, try replacing them with something else, and see if that changes anything. Apart from that, you could also try killing jaws and see if while just sitting there it still crackles as such. All comes down to that the most common source of a crackling sound of this type is that some or other bit of insulation in the wiring/components of the sound system has as such become imperfect as such, and a form of static electricity is causing this sound. It's not overwhelming, but it's distracting and I'm afraid it might get worse. I checked, and the only change recently made on this computer was that a PCI wireless card was installed. I doubt that has anything to do with it, but who knows. My question is for anyone else who has had this occurrence take place with JAWS, do you have any troubleshooting tips, or what you discovered to be the most common problem in this regard? Before putting the disk back in, should I uninstall the current version of JAWS or could I just choose the repair option on the disk or do a reinstall? How do I go about reinstalling? What's happening is this. If the computer is turned off for 30 minutes or more, it's going in to sleep mode, (not hibernation, or stand-by, sleep mode.) This is happening both on battery and AC power. In order to turn it back on, I have to press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds. Nothing else will wake it up. It started doing this, after I may have accidentally changed something in the power options section of the control panel. I talked to Dell on Friday, and they are researching it; the guy said that all my settings seem to be all right, and he doesn't know why it keeps going in to sleep mode. Has anyone ever had an experience like this, and does anyone know how to disable the sleep button on a Dell Latitude? Any help would be greatly appreciated. By the way, I'm not turning the machine off; it runs fine when it's turned on. Thanks Much. Re: [Blind-Computing] Sleep mode
I hope you are right, don't get my aditude wrong with my last message. On Sun, 7 Dec 2008 22:41:53 -0500, you wrote: Hello Joan, I'm a bit confused when you say that the computer is turned off when it goes into sleep mode. It sounds like you're placing your computer on stand by, then, after 30 minutes or so, the computer goes directly into hibernate status. This is the default reaction for a computer that is just sitting there doing nothing, unless you turn this feature off in the power options. First and foremost, are you saying that if you come back to the computer within the 30 minutes, you simply have to press a key on the computer, and the computer will come alive again? If this is the case, then you are most definitely not turning your computer off, you are placing the computer in stand by mode, which means that it uses less power than if it was fully turned off, and places everything you were doing in a temporary folder so that you can access it quickly when you come back to it. I don't know whether you wanted your computer to do this or not, but if you didn't, I'll give instructions on how to turn it off below. If you did want it to be like this, then you have nothing more to do, in which case, you simply have to turn off the hibernate mode on your computer, and that will be in the explanation below also. At this point, I need you to detail how exactly you're turning the computer on and off. What I mean is, do you go into the start menu, select turn off computer... and arrow down to turn computer off or what ever, or do you simply press and hold the power button until it turns off? Or, do you simply tap the power button and let it go, then the computer shuts down? The reason I ask is because the computer will do certain things, if set that way, when you close the lid of your computer, or when you press the power button. You can essentially set it to stand by, hibernate, shut down, or do nothing. This goes for both the lid of the computer and the power button. both these items can be set to those four scenarios. To get there, I'll explain in my message on how to turn off the hibernation mode in the next paragraph. So, to turn off hibernation mode, and set the computer to never sleep or something like that, first you have to open up the power options in your control panel. Since you've previously done this, I won't mention it here for room's sake. Once the dialog box is open, you should land on the combo box that outlines your choices for the power scheme you wish to use. I believe you want always on, so arrow up or down to that choice and you're done with this tab. You will need to go to three tabs over, so press control+tab three times until you reach the advanced tab. In this tab, you'll find the options for what your computer should do when you shut the lid and press the power button. As a rule, all my computers are set to do nothing when I do these two things, as I prefer to have full control of my equipment. Either way, you can set it to what ever you wish. Your options are: Do nothing; stand by; hibernate; In the case of the power button, you have two additional options, those being to ask me what to do and to fully shut down. Like I said, I usually tell it to do nothing, that way I can set it to what ever I want to do so that I inadvertently don't close the lid of my computer when I've got a download running all night or something like that. Either way, it's up to your personal preferences. Once you've selected your options for this tab, move once to the next tab with control+tab, and you should land on the hibernation page. If hibernation is turned on, you'll find the check box on this page to be checked, with the phrase being, Enable hibernation. If you should wish to turn off hibernation mode, simply press the spacebar to uncheck the box and that's it. Once you've done this, tab down to apply, then shift+tab back to the ok button, and you'll have full control of your computer again. If you need any other help, let me know and I'll try to answer your questions, if any. Re: [Blind-Computing] firefox
My only problem with Firefox is that when I am viewing sites such as Craigslist or the unemployment site and have to go back and forth between pages, it doesn't keep my place like IE does. It's a minor anoyance, but it's nice to not have to worry about it. I use the visited command but if I've visited 20 links on the page, it can be a bit tedious. I use Firefox if I'm not doing that kind of browsing most always.. On Sun, 7 Dec 2008 04:21:26 -0700, you wrote: I have both Fire Fox and IE on the same machine. Re: [Blind-Computing] Purchasing a laptop
Alsokeep in mind that a full keyboard is going to limit how compact the laptop is. If that doesn't matter to you and you want a full keyboard, I'd say go for it, but if you want something small I would recommend learning the laptop layout which isn't that difficult. I even figured it out and people on this list can tell you that I'm not exactly a pro. Just my thoughts on the matter. AVG actually caught a trogen on my computer a couple of years ago and we removed it without reinstalling XP but I'll have to ask my sighted husband how he did it. He may have gone into safe mode. I hope somebody else can give you some better news but remedies to get rid of Trojans often rely on deleting files in Windows Safe Mode. That is a version of windows where minimal features are loaded. There is no way that I am aware of that you can use a screen reader in safe Mode as I believe no audio drivers are loaded. I would be very interested if someone can point out that I am wrong. Whatever course you take to get rid of this Trojan I think you are going to need sighted help. I have had a couple of problems like these over the years and I am afraid to say I found the help desks of Norton and AVG pretty impotent . You can easily spend hours and hours trying to sort this out. In my experience the quickest waymay be to do a destructive Windows re-install so your priority now should be backing up all the data you need including emails etc. Our list owner David, has suggested using a solution like Image for Windows as an escape route for problems like these. I think he is right, I use Norton Ghost but you do need sighted help whilst it re-builds Windows. Image for Windows apparently has a method people without sight can deploy. It is not much help for you right now but I suggest that once your system is restored to perfect health and you have everything how you want it use a program like Image for Windows to freeze this as an image. Then you can always go back to this perfect state which gives peace of mind. Use Karen's Replicator available on the owners site to keep all your important data backed up separately so that these can be resored also once you put the perfect image back in. Hi all, I really need help with this very badly. I have an older version of Norton (Internet Security version 2006) and that may be the problem. But I can't seem to remove this 1 Trojan horse. Does anyone have any suggestions? I want to take Norton off and put avira Anti Virus program on, but I believe you have to have someone sighted to help with the Norton removal tool. I've even tried doing a system restore, but it failed and I've had the problem with system restore long before I got this Trojan Horse. I'm using Windows XP and Jaws 7.0. By the way, the only reason I didn't upgrade Norton is because I heard that the later versions were not Jaws user friendly. Thank you very much for your help. Re: [Blind-Computing] JAWS 10 beta not keeping settings
thanks Chris: Leave it to me to have a problem nobody else is having. lol I tried shutting down JAWS 10 and changing to JAWS 9 on the fly it screwed my computer up. When I loaded JAWS 10 first it messed things up too, so I may just wait or try it at a later time. I think I might have just gotten a bad install, but I will use your suggestion next time I try it. I figured out that it's going back to default. It even loaded with the default voice rate that's 10 times too slow for my liking so starting with a clean slate might help. It drives me crazy when my computer sounds like it's been smoking too much wacky tobacki. My spell check is going to think that I have. .grin) Thanks again. [Blind-Computing] JAWS 10 beta not keeping settings
Hi: I can not keep the settings in JAWS 10. I set them and they are immediately gone. Laptop turns back into desktop, words turn to characters, and who knows what else. Has anybody else had this problem? Any ideas on what else to do? I hit ok and they are gone again almost instantly. They were originally set in the set up wizzard also. Perhaps the beta wasn't ready to be released yet. Maybe my laptop just wants to frustrate me. I should have waited on it, I guess, but I got curious as to what programs were supported by it.. I'm not going to bother installing it again at this point, but if I could fix the problem some other way, I would try that. as I like some of the features. I've now got long pauses while reading this email alsowhen using the up or down arrow keys. I think it's screwing with me. Thanks. I have not used Media player for quite some time. There was nothing there to paste, so it truly isn't copying anything. when this happens. [Blind-Computing] How to close Napster in WMpWMp
Hi: I guess the subject line says it all. Now I know why I hate Windows Media Player. First for some reason I had to reinstall WMP 10 to play a file somebody sent me. It now thinks it is the default player. On top of that, somehow I got the Napster window up and can't close it with control f4, or the close button. They both shut the whole player down. How do I get that blasted window to go away. This has happened to me before and I finally got it to go away without realizing how I did it. Any help would be appreciated. I will also have to figure out how to uncheck the box to make it default as I am running J-Tunes and my music files are M4a which I am sure I could probably figure out without that Napster window in front of everything. I think that a hard drive whether internal or external should have a longer life than 1-1/2 or 2 years. You did not mention the size of your failed Hitachi hard drive. I do think that the larger hard drives have the tendency to fail sooner than smaller ones. As I have mentioned, my Western Digital internal hard drive was 500 GB. and it failed within two years. I was told that the master file table which I believe keeps track of all the files on the hard drive was corrupted. Since I had many, many MP3 files on that old hard drive, I(I don't remember how many) it was probably too many for the master file table to keep up with it. I was told that the solution with large single hard drives is to split the hard drives into two drives. This could be done before any data is stored on a new hard drive using a function in Window to split the hard drive (I think it has to do with formatting). If data is already stored on the hard drive, then you need something like partition magic to split the hard drive. The advantage of splitting a hard drive (so I was told) is that it will create two master file tables which should handles the large number of files spread over the two areas. I have two external hard drives and one internal hard drive and all are 500 GB. each. So, the three are split to prevent failure. Each one has its own drive letter and each is split about 250 GB. each. I hope that this information is useful for you. So for me, IE is the winner and still champion. - Original Message - From: Chris Hallsworth [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: blind-computing@jaws-users.com Sent: Friday, August 15, 2008 11:31 AM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] FIRE FOX VERSUS INTERNET EXPLORER Hi, Firefox is better than IE because of the following: 1. More secure, thus preventing online malware attacks. 2. More faster than IE due to the browsing engine used. 3. The ability to solve captchas by use of the Webvisum plug-in. Now here's a correction. Firefox in no way uses a Google toolbar; it uses Google as its default search engine. I noticed that Fire Fox wants to load the Google tool bar. Why would it do that? What purpose does the tool bar serve? I have heard that Fire Fox has a better reputation when it comes to protection from dangerous on line viruses. Is this true? In short, can someone who uses Fire Fox take a moment to tell me why they made the choice and don't use Explorer any more. Thanks very much. [Blind-Computing] Web Anywhere
Web-based program gives the blind Internet access 18/07/2008 5:08:00 PM THE ASSOCIATED PRESS SEATTLE - Blind people generally use computers with the help of screen-reader software, but those products can cost more than $1,000, so they're not exactly common on public PCs at libraries or Internet cafes. Now a free new web-based program for the blind aims to improve the situation. It's called WebAnywhere, and it was developed by a computer science graduate student at the University of Washington. Unlike software that has to be installed on PCs, WebAnywhere is an Internet application that can make web surfing accessible to the blind on most any computer. The developer, Jeffrey Bigham, hopes it lets blind people check a flight time on a public computer at the airport, plan a bus route at the library or type up a quick e-mail at an Internet cafe. To get WebAnywhere running, a blind person has to manage to get online, which can be complicated on a computer not already set up to give verbal feedback. But Bigham's research found that web-savvy blind people often know plenty of keyboard tricks and when to ask for help. Once online, a blind web surfer can use the WebAnywhere browser, which can link to and then read out loud any page - as long as the computer has speakers or a headphone jack. The program can skip around the section titles, tab through charts or read the page from top to bottom. WebAnywhere could benefit from some tweaking, but it's a big improvement over a total lack of public access, says Lindsay Yazzolino, a blind Brown University student who has a summer job at the University of Washington. Yazzolino, 19, would like to see a better search function and fewer keystrokes required for navigation around web pages, but she loves the fact that the program is free. Bigham says he hopes others will make improvements to his program, which is open-source to invite tinkering. He doesn't have a personal connection to the issue of computer accessibility - except through his fellow students who are blind - but recognizes the area as wide open for programmers. His faculty adviser, professor Richard Ladner, hopes a commercial search engine will adopt WebAnywhere as a module. Ladner's next dream is for web developers to keep blind people in mind when they design their pages - a change that could make information easier for everyone to find. -Donna Gordon Blankinship, AP Writer. Re: [Blind-Computing] PC Maintenance
Hi and thanks for the info., I had no idea how to do those things. There are variables though and I suppose it could vary from system to system or service pack. When I did the clean disc function there was no next button, but the ok button seemed to do the trick. It also let the disc check run without me rebooting the system. It freaked me out at first because JAWS was anouncing the progress bar as fast as it could talk for all three stages of the process and I wasn't expecting anything like that. I haven't done the other two things and will probably wait until tomorrow, but I do thank you. I never thought I would be performing these tasks on my own as I am so afraid to mess things up and I thought it would be a lot more complicated. It's no secret to you all that I am a computer dummy. Patricia From time to time I post information that will assist you in working with your PC From time to time I post information that will assist you in working with your PC. Just like servicing your car, your PC needs attention also. Here are some recommendations everyone should do on a regular basis. There are several things you can do to maintain your PC's performance. These procedures should be done at least once a month or even more often depending on your usage. I recommend doing them in this order. 1. Prefetch When you launch an application, Windows XP stores that information in a file called, prefetch. These files can accumulate over a period of time and will have some affect on the loading of Windows. It doesn't hurt to clean out this file from time to time and will not affect the operation of your PC to delete them. Go to the start menu and either arrow down to run or just type the letter R. When the edit box appears, type in: prefetch and press enter. You will have a list of applications that you have used since you have been using Windows XP. Simply do a control a to select all and then press your shift delete. If you just press delete, those files will go into the recycle bin, but adding the shift key will bypass it. Now say yes to, are you sure you want to delete these files. Finally press alt f4 to exit. 2. Disc Clean-up Whenever you surf the internet or download files, your PC stores information on the hard drive in a temp folder. There are other files included in the Disc Clean-Up which you probably would want to get rid of. Go to your start menu, then to All Programs, then Accessories, next to System Tools and finally to Disc Clean-Up and press enter. It might take a few minutes for it to open, depending on if it will compress old files. But once it does, you will probably be asked which Drive your want to clean. Select the C drive. Once this is selected, you will have a list of items that the disc clean-up will clean. These may include: Downloaded Internet Files Temp Internet Internet Files Off Line Web Pages Office Set-Up Files Recycle Bin Temporary Files Web Publisher Files Compress Old Files Catalogue Files As you down arrow through the list, you will notice that they may be checked or unchecked. If they are checked, this will clean that option when the next Button is pressed. I recommend checking everything with the exception of, compress old files. You only need to check this if your hard drive is getting Low on free drive space. After you have checked the files you want to clean, tab to next and press enter. You will be asked if you are sure you want to do this, just Press enter on, yes. It will take a few minutes, but when it is finished, you will be taken out of the Disc Clean-Up. 3. Check Disc The check disc should be performed before a scan disc is performed. To do this, go to the start menu and then to, run. When the edit box appears, type in: chkdsk /f and press enter. You will be presented with a dialogue that says, the check disc cannot be performed because the volume is in use. Would you like to perform this the next time your system starts? Just type the letter Y and press enter. Now you will need to shut down
[Blind-Computing] oracle web with JAWS
Hi everyone: I am using Oracle Web with JAWS and a Power Braille 80 at work and thanks to a programmer writing some scripts for me, it's useable, however when I am filling out forms on the internet JAWS will start losing focus or lagging every third or fourth call. Many times updating the screen won't even straighten it out. To make the long story short, I have finally obtained enough network rights to restart JAWS complete with the video intercept files so that my scripts continue to work. I was having to reboot every time this happened. I did a Google search as I had nothing to lose. I found that there is a developer called Discoverer that helps, but I don't know if it is even going to work with the version of Oracle that we are using. I'm not smart enough to figure that out just by reading about it, and it was a blog which I only put some stock in. Thank goodness the call I'm having trouble with isn't the only one I do but sometimes JAWS is sluggish on the other calls and I have to refresh the screen a lot. Does anybody have any ideas about this issue?. My work computer runs McAfee. Is there an issue with McAfee and JAWS now? Perhaps that has something to do with it. Any ideas on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated. I'm the only one at that facility that uses JAWS and/or Braille so everybody is at a total loss. Thanks. Hi: What I do is paste the entire contents into a new message, go to the bottom of the material that you want to get rid of, and hit control shift home which will highlight everything from the cursor on up. Then you can hit delete, or do with it what you will. This works very well for me and it only gets rid of the addresses, and doesn't affect anything below the cursor at all. [Blind-Computing] firefox flashing a message
Hi: When rebooting my computer using the latest vbersion of Firefox, it asks if I want to restore the previous session or start a new one. That in itself is ok, but what isn't is that now the message flashes across the screen causing JAWS to say part of it over and over and over again. Does anybody know of a way to get JAWS to stop doing this, or better yet, how to get Firefox to stop flashing that stupid message. Having it up to choose from is one thing, but flashing is another. I wouldn't have known what was causing the problem if my husband who is sighted hadn't told me. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks. [Blind-Computing] nbsp
Hi: Does anybody know what nbsp; happens to mean? I'm finding it throughout a lot of my email messages, and my sighted husband says it actually shows as such on the screen so I know it's not a JAWS issue, but what is it? It drives me crazy when I want to read an email and that is inserted every few words. Could it be generated by my email program starting within the last few days? If so, how do I stop it? It doesn't happen to be in what I'm sending, does it? I'm using Forte Agent with JFW 9.0.2169. Nothing that I can put my finger on has changed to make this start happening. Re: [Blind-Computing] SPAM-MED: talking key board developed in India
I think if you're visually impaired and want to type, you'd best be able to use a regular keyboard. Besides, it would have to use software, so you might as well learn to type with a conventional keyboard and use speech software right? Find a Braille'N'Speak and use the remote setting to make it work similarly. You could probably get one of those for next to nothing now. ha ha. On Mon, 2 Jun 2008 08:57:44 +0530, you wrote: A group of third year engineering students studying at Cummins College of Engineering for Women at the city of Pune, India has developed a Braille keyboard with a speech feedback that will make typing easy for the visually impaired. the device will help visually impaired students to write their examination papers on their own, without the assistance of another person. This keyboard has six keys out of which there are three special keys. Any blind person can easily use these six keys. There are three special keys called done, space and delete. Once a blind person finishes typing an alphabet, he can press done and if he feels he has to delete what he has typed, he can press delete. The keyboard has been designed exactly like the Braille language matrix with three additional keys. The device consists of a Braille keyboard connected to a micro controller and a text to speech (TTS) converter, which gives output as sound that can be heard by using headphone or speakers. and they also plan to develop its various language versions. This is like a Braille slate. It is similar to that. We can use it without any problem. [Blind-Computing] JAWS being sluggish with Oracle
Hi: I am having a problem at work with JAWS being so sluggish that I sometimes have to refresh my screen every time I hit enter. Sometimes I can't even tab through fields properly without constantly refreshing the screen with JAWS key escape. Sometimes when I take a call, all the fields that I've filled in disappear in Braille though they are still there and the labels for the fields still show. We are on a network. The problem is intermittant, but is there more than not. Every time it gets bad enough I have to reboot my system quite often several times a day. I am running Windows 2000 on a del 460 something computer with JAWS 9.0.2169 and a power Braille 80. I was hoping the update would change things, but it didn't. Yesterday everything worked perfectl for the most part, and I didn't even have to reboot, but today was another story Now you see what I mean by intermittent? as usual. The problems all started with the upgrade of Oracle. what a nuisance that program is. I guess what I would like to know is if there is anything that somebody could suggest that myself or systems could do to make JAWS run more efficiently. I've had a programmer write some navigation scripts for me or I would really have a disaster. We've also installed the newest version of Java Access Bridge as Oracle is now internet based. I'm about to throw in the towel and I'm not a quitter. I'm tired of complaining about the issue and driving my coworkers and systems up a tree. I've probably been dealing with this for a good three months now. Programming denies changing anything from day to day.. If it was the video driver or something on the computer, wouldn't my Braille display stop working altogether? It sure makes it hard to sound professional when you can't even tell what you are doing. Any ideas whatsoever would be appreciated, because I don't like doing my job poorly. Re: [Blind-Computing] GOOGLE TOOL BAR, STILL THERE
I think this is the same problem that I was inquiring about a few weeks ago. Does it say toolbar when you try to open something or sometimes go to Google when you don't want it too? I still haven't resolved the issue totally, but rest asured you aren't the only one. I have discovered that I no longer have to hit alt d or any of the other keys associated with opening a web site as that seems to make the computer behave strangely, I get the google issue. Simply type the address in. I think there is a search bar in the internet programs now, and I believe that you and I have inadvertently activated it. Hi Victor and all: I've just done some research via Google, and it appears that the paid version of 7.5 will be supported but not the free one.
