We intend to transition to stage 4 tomorrow.

Stage 4: Dedicated Servers that use anonymous login will no longer list in
the GMS nor be connectable by CS:GO clients.

Cheers.

I don't believe so since I had servers running earlier this week without a GSLT.

I've still got one running without in now to actually know when it goes live.

Re: [Csgo_servers] Notice of changes to CS:GO Game Server Operation

2015-11-24 Thread mailing
Apparently there is indeed an issue with the API. Several of my servers were
empty or nearly empty during the past 2 days.

I checked each IP with

http://api.steampowered.com/ISteamApps/GetServersAtAddress/v0001?addr=IPHERE:PORTHERE

and those empty/unpopulated were giving a response such as the following one:

{

"response": {

   "success": true,

   "servers": [

   ]

}

}

Which generally means the server is down, but the server was up!

There is a solution for this -> restart the server.

I am currently testing out also using

sv_hibernate_when_empty 0

Valve should look into this and fix it as soon as possible.

BR,

Niko

In the API link I believe you don't put the port there.

For example, ours is:

http://api.steampowered.com/ISteamApps/GetServersAtAddress/v0001?addr=43.249.38.183

You see four servers that are currently up. I think the port number (more
specifically, the colon) breaks the input.

Hi,

Hi,

I have already added all my servers with the token while only 1 is not
working properly.

You may connect to this server from a lobby. While using the api web
checker, it shows only

{
"response": {
"success": true,
"servers": [

]

}
}

While those working ones shows

{
"response": {
"success": true,
"servers": [
{
"addr": "XXX.XXX.XX.XX:2015",
"gmsindex": 65534,
"appid": 730,
"gamedir": "csgo",
"region": 4,
"secure": true,
"lan": false,
"gameport": 27015,
"specport": 0
}
]

}
}

Please advise if this is a bug. No matter what I do restarting the server
etc it won't work. It still gives that message.

It used to fetch the new version when it did it checks -
sv_ugc_manager_max_new_file_check_interval_secs  something got broken

I don't know what to say if you think a couple clicks to put a map into a
workshop collection is more efforts then editing the gamemodes_server.txt
file every time you add a map.

maps show like that to lets users know your using the real workshop version!
it's up to date and they are not going to get kicked because there map
version is different. :)

you can use host_info_show 2 and it will just show id/name but then you
don't get the workshop icon in the community browser (another bug imo)

Hey,
I don't use gamemodes_server either. New maps end up in maplist.txt
which is hard linked to mapcycle.txt.

Sourcemod then handles the map changes and nominations.

I also don't appreciate the fact that maps never change the name, unless
you can stop guys like me from grabbing them and using them on local,
then not renaming the maps will hurt both parties.

A clean solution would be to md5 check the map and if the version is
different then the local one is deleted and the new one is downloaded.
But as we say in italian, i'm probably talking to the wind (nobody will
care)

I guess I will just happily continue using my method as it works fine
until the day that workshop will be more interesting (not going to
happen soon i guess).

Re: [Csgo_servers] Notice of changes to CS:GO Game Server Operation

2015-11-21 Thread ics
Workshop has also a significant flaw vs the current fastdl system, which
is maps not preloading on background. If new map(s) is added to the
cycle, you have to cycle the server through the map(s) before it can be
played. Otherwise it will download at the end of the current one and
players will leave, because they have short temper.

The documentation is kind of lacking and flawed in spme parts. For
example I as a workshop map contributor, used different name for each
time i updated the map on workshop. This due to someone taking the map
off from workshop and putting it to their fastdl so they didn't have to
use the workshop. But the server operators said to me that "can you not
change the name because they have the maplists with certain name". They
didn't have any idea that you could simply put the workshop map id into
the mapcycle in order to get it work the same way.

But Niko you are wrong about compression. Workshop maps are compressed,
they eat nearly the same size of diskspace as bzip2 packed maps. There
is only a slight difference.

There are also times when workshop has been down and was unavailable to
download maps but these luckily have decreased.

[Csgo_servers] Notice of changes to CS:GO Game Server Operation

2015-11-19 Thread Vitaliy Genkin
Hi all,

Stage 3 is now in effect and anonymous servers no longer list in server browser.
In the nearest update we will improve server status command to output server
SteamID for operators.

If your server doesn't list in server browser currently, you can use the
following WebAPI request to check:
http://api.steampowered.com/ISteamApps/GetServersAtAddress/v0001?addr=203.189.71.xxx
An example output for anonymously logged in servers would contain
"requires_gslt" reject reason:
{
"addr":
"203.189.71.xxx:27016",
"gmsindex":
65534,
"reject":
"requires_gslt",
"appid": 730,
"gamedir":
"csgo",
"region": 4,
"secure": true,
"lan": false,
"gameport":
27016,
"specport": 0
}

Sincerely,
-Vitaliy

As of tomorrow, dedicated servers that do not use a GSLT to log in will no
longer list in the GMS.

Cheers.

Notice of changes to CS:GO Game Server Operation

CS:GO dedicated servers will soon require Steam Game Server Login Tokens
(GSLTs). This is the existing system that TF2 uses for Favorites migration.

§ Stage 1: [DONE] The GSLT creation utility is live:
https://steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers. Please test the interface and
report back any issues in creating accounts. Note that TF2 server operators can
now use this form to create GSLTs for TF2 (AppId 440).

§ Stage 2: [DONE] You can now use the sv_setsteamaccount concommand to log in
with your GSLT. it is still possible to run a dedicated server without a GSLT.
Anonymous login will happen automatically if no game server login token is
specified. Please report back any issues with logging in using the game server
login token or otherwise.

§ Stage 3: [NOW ACTIVE] Dedicated Servers that use anonymous login instead of
a GSLT will no longer list in the GMS. Otherwise they will still be playable.

§ Stage 4: Dedicated Servers that use anonymous login will no longer list in
the GMS nor be connectable by CS:GO clients.

Please ask questions in this thread.

Cheers.

Ido, could you guys please update the CS:GO "status" command to show
whether or not the server is logged in, like TF2 does? That's a lot easier
than simply watching for lines in the console at startup, especially if
you're running in a screen session on Linux and can't scroll back through
the lines which have left the screen.

Thanks.

Exactly! This.

and possibly a cvar that we can poll to verify that the server has logged in
correctly. Or at least an assertion that stops the server after a minute or so
if it hasn’t logged in (I guess this can be implemented by an extension or
plugin)

§ Stage 3: [NEXT WEEK] Dedicated Servers that use anonymous login instead of a
GSLT will no longer list in the GMS. Otherwise they will still be playable.

§ Stage 4: Dedicated Servers that use anonymous login will no longer list in
the GMS nor be connectable by CS:GO clients.

Please ask questions in this thread.

Cheers.

Thanks for the heads up Ido!

Will you be banning by tokens from tomorrow then, or still by IP until
stage 4?

Re: [Csgo_servers] Notice of changes to CS:GO Game Server Operation

2015-11-14 Thread ch4os
I just started a local listenserver to practise some smokes and saw this
in console:

* No Steam account token was specified. *
* Logging into anonymous game server account. *
* Support for anonymous logins will go away soon. *
* To create a game server account go to *
*  http://steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers *

This is the same warning message you get when starting up a dedicated
server.
Will this be required for listenservers aswell? Or is this message just
a bug?

Thanks!

2°) restart this server (just in case)
3°) Stop this Server
4°) Transfer the token to another server
5°) My server browser isn't updated.

Did it works for someone ?

2015-11-11 Thread Don Park
Sorry to piss you off. But even with reading it, it seems many people are
confusing authkey with the gsln token and steamcmd login. Therefore i
thought asking it again was required to get a definitive yes or no. Since
again... people (like the last guy who was asking if people were high)
confused the server login token with steamcmd login.

Howdy,

So to clear the air real quick. The authkey launch parameter is no longer
needed in order to access the workshop contents correct? Simply setting

All my servers are working perfectly (and updating perfectly) besides that.

Howdy,

So to clear the air real quick. The authkey launch parameter is no longer
needed in order to access the workshop contents correct? Simply setting the
"sv_setsteamaccount" in the launch parameter will now allow workshop access?

All my servers are working perfectly (and updating perfectly) besides that.

Thanks.

VAC = Valve Anti Cheats, I really don't think that valve goes as far as
banning you from playing on servers because you did something wrong when
hosting a specific gameserver.
Also I don't think that bans would be permanent seen the length of the bans
given to IPs during the previous months. However these are all speculations
and we have yet to hear from VALVE.

What we know for sure is that if you have 20 tokens and 1 gets banned, the
other 19 will also be banned.

No. This does not eliminate the need for an authkey for workshop maps.

The authkey you no longer need is the one necessary to generate the GSLT prior

I was also confused few weeks back but i'll say this to make it clear:

Anonymous login during server update/install will not be disabled.

Anonymous logging in (that servers did automatically before) with server
will be disabled when server is started.

Everyone just needs to set up their servers to log in per Valve
instructions. This means that you need to put sv_setsteamaccount
"idkeyhere" into autoexec.cfg in order to get server log in. See Ido's
messages for more info.

I honestly don't think you understand this update. "login anonymous" for
steamcmd is not going to be deprecated, you will always be able to update
the server anonymously even after stage 3. You just can't log into the
gameservers anonymously. This update has NOTHING to do with steamcmd and how
you update your servers.

"YES I have to use login anonymous which gets deprecated soon"

I honestly have no idea where you heard logining in anonymously on steamcmd
would get removed, mine quoting or linking me something? If i'm wrong i'll
admit it, but first i've heard of that. You also really need to get off your
high horse and re-read what this update actually does.

Where you get the console output after the server launchs.

The assigned anonymous id should be something like, assigned persistant...

Others already posted today with an error if it wasnt assigned correctly if
you have a look at the previous posts today.

Not enough proof for me, since we're not even in stage 3 yet so you shouldn't
have to log in. And I don't see you typing "login anonymous" in that cmd
prompt so you're not even logged into anonymously from what I can tell.

Updated all my servers today just fine.

Thats not proof at all.

The error states your not online or not logged into steam.

I dont see a login anonymous request before app_update.

If what your saying was really the case. Valve wouldnt have confirmed its
not required!

And my servers wouldnt have updated today.

Are you stoned? This is what I'm telling, YOU cannot update any servers
without being logged in as anonymous on windows steamcmd at least!

IF i did add "login anonymous" again to my script it would let me update.
But this action gets disabled so why the h... should i add BOTH commands and
test with them? it makes no sense at all.

Thats why I'm saying, add the new cvar to first of all valid AND allowed to
be able to login with via steamcmd.exe for windows.

What part of not being able to update or retrieve server files while not
being logged in?

This works pretty

This does not.

Go lookup valve readme for server providers I just followed their own
instruktions and have been working great so far.

You 2 must be sitting in the same room smoking.

Go read what I wrote to the other guy ;)

"You cannot update server files without being logged into steamcmd as anon
or any other account"

So why should we test the new cvar when login function gets disabled
anyways?? Why even bother tell me..

We wont be able to get updates with steamcmd as long

1)
login function gets disabled

2)
Not allowing to use tokens ID to login with and retrieve updates!

So until that part is working why should i test the new cvar command?? for
what purpose it does nothing...

+

Read it all again and you might understand.

Ehh?? How the "h..." do you expect us to download updates and download the
actually game files from scratch if we cannot use "login anonymous"..

To be able to get updates and get them from scratch you actually NEED to
have login anonymous first, i just tested with token generated and it
wanted password, so fair enough i added the password from the account that
generated it, and it did not work.

Ido I dont think you guys thought about this issue..

We need 1 string login cmd to be able to get updates no matter what.

How can you expect people to test +sv_setsteamaccount TOKEN ID in
launch options if we cannot skip login anonymous. If we delete or
clear login string we wont get any updates in startup.

Not very clever..

For us at windows hosting, you need to implement sv_setsteamaccount "id"
as a valid command for and steamcmd.exe and let it accept it like "login
anonymous" else we have no chance of getting updates or downloading

have not reached Stage 2 of the rollout process. All you can do now is
create tokens for each of your servers in preparation for the change.

Notice of changes to CS:GO Game Server
Operation

*CS:GO dedicated servers will soon require
Steam
Game Server Login Tokens (GSLTs). *This is the
existing system that TF2 uses for Favorites
migration.**

This transition will happen in three stages:

§Stage 1 *[NOW]* : The GSLT creation
utility goes

live:https://steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers.

Please test the interface and report back any
issues in creating accounts. Note that TF2
server
operators can now use this form to create
GSLTs
for TF2 (AppId 440).

§Stage 2: An update to CS:GO's dedicated
server
will include the sv_setsteamaccount convar
that
allows you to log in with your GSLT. In
this stage
it will still be possible to run a dedicated
server without a GSLT. Anonymous login
will happen
automatically if no game server login token is
specified. Please report back any issues with
logging in using the game server login
token or
otherwise.

§Stage 3: Anonymous logins will be disabled in
CS:GO. Please report back any issues.

Please ask questions in this thread.

Cheers.

2015-10-19 Thread Roland Mondek
Hello,

I've got a few questions to be correct. So the servers won't be listed by
IP in the favorites in the future ? If someone got banned and create new
IDs & run server on same IP it won't work ?

If your customer has enough access to the server that they can get it
banned, then I'm not sure why you wouldn't be expecting them to set the
token themselves in the config.

If an customer get the server banned I will loose this unique TOKEN or

Re: [Csgo_servers] Notice of changes to CS:GO Game Server Operation

2015-10-19 Thread Nomaan Ahmad
Right, this procedure only makes your server viewable on server browser
even if you changed your IP.

example:
You decided to move your server to another GSP and so you get newer IP.
This means you will lose all your traffic you had on your older IP.

But if you have this token setup on your server and your IP changes, you
wont lose your traffic and steam will update your older IP with your newer
IP so players who had your server in fav list etc will see the new IP
automatically. This was the sole purpose of this feature initially.

Now Valve will start using this for a new purpose too which is delisting
servers that are in violation. So your server wont appear on your player's
steam browser anymore if your server is in violation.

The servers will still be using IP:Port!

This feature isn't for GSPs to use but it's for their customers. When their
customer's server are in violation, Valve will delist their server and it
wont affect other servers on the same IP/machine. Simple.

Re: [Csgo_servers] Notice of changes to CS:GO Game Server Operation

2015-10-18 Thread Niko

Hello,
are there any dates for stage2?
Any updates regarding the issues discussed on this list?
I'm looking forward in issuing the tokens to my servers.

BR,
Niko

Ido Magal kirjoitti:

Notice of changes to CS:GO Game Server Operation

*CS:GO dedicated servers will soon require Steam Game
Server Login Tokens (GSLTs). *This is the existing
system that TF2 uses for Favorites migration.**

This transition will happen in three stages:

§Stage 1 *[NOW]* : The GSLT creation utility goes
live:https://steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers.
Please test the interface and report back any issues
in creating accounts. Note that TF2 server operators
can now use this form to create GSLTs for TF2 (AppId 440).

§Stage 2: An update to CS:GO's dedicated server will
include the sv_setsteamaccount convar that allows you
to log in with your GSLT. In this stage it will still
be possible to run a dedicated server without a GSLT.
Anonymous login will happen automatically if no game
server login token is specified. Please report back
any issues with logging in using the game server login
token or otherwise.

§Stage 3: Anonymous logins will be disabled in CS:GO.
Please report back any issues.

Please ask questions in this thread.

Cheers.

Thanks, Ido! That's great news.

Can you please address the ability to login anonymously? Specifically it
would be desirable for servers to continue logging in anonymously, but
without being listed on the GMS. This way direct IP connections would still
work.

This would be preferable for those who run matchmaking and temporary server
rental services.

Besides that, I think the remaining restrictions are reasonable. The phone
number requirement is not ideal (and can be easily bypassed), but it can be

Why multiple tokens if one could run on all servers, if ur idea was to ban
an actual user, like its v easy to paste same in multiple cfgs then just to
copy paste different tokens especially with large number of servers

2015-10-16 Thread Kevin
Do you even know what your talking about?

Who are you to tell server owners whether or not they can or can't force
players to watch motd ads?

It's our server, and in order to play on it you have to obey our rules and
requirements. Valve isn't ever gonna change this, because it does not
violate their TOS. Server owners can prevent anyone from playing on their
servers for any reason, whether thats due to high ping, the country they're
from, what language they speak, or what cvars they are use.

Re: [Csgo_servers] Notice of changes to CS:GO Game Server Operation

2015-10-16 Thread Egner
VAVLE this is somthing that will kill the CSGO scene. This is for sure! Do
something about the plugins problem instead of giving us in the community
problems like this.

SHAME ON YOU VALVE!

YOU ARE KILLING THE SCENE!

CONGRATULATIONS!

Re: [Csgo_servers] Notice of changes to CS:GO Game Server Operation

2015-10-16 Thread Asher Baker
You can re-use a token on multiple servers - you just can't have multiple
logged in using the same token. You only need as many tokens as you are
running concurrent instances.

Re: [Csgo_servers] Notice of changes to CS:GO Game Server Operation

2015-10-16 Thread mailing
Careful though!

Each time a server logs in with a token, the favorites of your clients update
to that specific ip:port.

That means that if you have 10 servers cycling, only one will ever show up in
the favorites, and that will be the last one you started. (depending on how
fast valve updates that list).

You probably would want to avoid that.

BR,

Niko

Would you consider the ability to reuse a single token for multiple servers?

I run a large number of instances that are ephemeral and therefore do not
necessitate long-lasting “favorites”. Assuming there is an API to create and
delete tokens, this new restriction on servers would add a single point of
failure if Steam’s API goes down.

Re: [Csgo_servers] Notice of changes to CS:GO Game Server Operation

2015-10-16 Thread MiShU # gameserver-syndicate.de

Hello Ido, hello Vitaly,

thank you for your answers.

Cause all token will be banned if there was something on (just) one
server, we really need a absolutely short but detailed and very clear
list of what is completely forbidden and will cause a ban. Not everyone
hosting or renting a server is in the list and need such a list to
prevent a ban.

Thx!

So just to be 100% clear, if a single token gets banned all tokens

Correct.

Also, will this change include more options to report community
servers? It's fairly limited at the moment and ways to report
community servers for abuse would be very helpful.

We'll consider that.

Community servers won't have XP? Isn't that a thing to keep people on valve
servers?
I am curious how this will affect server hosting in the long run, it just
seems like an extra hoop to jump through.

 Notice of changes to CS:GO Game Server Operation

 *CS:GO dedicated servers will soon require Steam Game Server Login
 Tokens (GSLTs). *This is the existing system that TF2 uses for Favorites
 migration.**

 This transition will happen in three stages:

 §Stage 1 *[NOW]* : The GSLT creation utility goes live:
 https://steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers. Please test the
 interface and report back any issues in creating accounts. Note that TF2
 server operators can now use this form to create GSLTs for TF2 (AppId 440).

 §Stage 2: An update to CS:GO's dedicated server will include the
 sv_setsteamaccount convar that allows you to log in with your GSLT. In this
 stage it will still be possible to run a dedicated server without a GSLT.
 Anonymous login will happen automatically if no game server login token is
 specified. Please report back any issues with logging in using the game
 server login token or otherwise.

 §Stage 3: Anonymous logins will be disabled in CS:GO. Please report
 back any issues.

 Please ask questions in this thread.

 Cheers.
