Re: [Audyssey] Test

I don't have frotz readily available - again, check out audiogames.net.
There are a number of interpreters that you can get directly from their review
pages.

As I recall that's just a standard windows program, so you'd download and
manage games as you would any other file.
Check out www.ifarchive.org if you're looking for games, or just dig around on
audiogames.net.

2016-12-12 Thread dark

Hi.

Hmmm, Frotz, as in the dos program I don't know about.
Win frotz as I recall just uses a standard dialogue, plus you should be able
to set windows to associate all zcode files with it so all you need to to is
just find the file in win explorer and hit enter.

I believe Filfre does the same thing with this too.

Hth.

Audyssey in the last 24 hours. So if you recently subscribed then you
wouldn't get any messages as there were not any to get for the last
day or so.

Hi Ron:

For the moment your subscription seems to be working fine. However, as
I mentioned off list we are currently mediating with Roadrunner's tech
guys to resolve the problem as the error doesn't appear to be on our
end, according to the logs, but some problem with Roadrunner's mail
server that bounces any and all messages from the Audyssey server.
Once the guys at Roadrunner figure out why your mail server is
bouncing all of our messages you should be set.

Re: [Audyssey] Test version of RPG engine

2011-06-09 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Jacob,

Would it be to much to ask for a non-Windows specific version of this
engine? All you probably need to do is recompile it to pyc files and
redistribute those unless you are using some Windows specific modules
in your engine.

The reason I am asking is Python is very cross--platform and is well
supported on non-Windows platforms like linux. I've got Python 2.7
installed on a Ubuntu 11 Linux system, and I'd like to try out the

This is also just currently generating command line output, but on windows

Ok, here's a link to the zip file containing all the .pyc files, along with
those text data files, and I now included what's meant to be a cross platform
module that can clear screen, and beep, called clsbeep, so there shouldn't be
any windows specific requirements in here as such:
http://www.blindza.co.za/uploads/mapData_pyc.zip

Sorry, but am also laughing now, since it totals like 13Kb - as opposed to the
roundabout 4Mb in the windows only version...smile

Obviously, the starting point would be the file, mapData.pyc, and will also
just mention that if you made changes to a copy of the mapData.txt etc. data
files, the command line argument to tell it to look for something specific is
just adding something like a map=mapData on there.

platform module that can clear screen, and beep, called clsbeep, so there
shouldn't be any windows specific requirements in here as such:
 http://www.blindza.co.za/uploads/mapData_pyc.zip

Sorry, but am also laughing now, since it totals like 13Kb - as opposed to
the roundabout 4Mb in the windows only version...smile

Obviously, the starting point would be the file, mapData.pyc, and will also
just mention that if you made changes to a copy of the mapData.txt etc. data
files, the command line argument to tell it to look for something specific
is just adding something like a map=mapData on there.

I've got Python 2.7
installed on a Ubuntu 11 Linux system, and I'd like to try out the
cross-platform potential of this engine if you will let me.
Especially, since I don't see any reason how or why this engine should
be Windows specific since you are most likely using a cross-platform
language and modules to begin with.

Cheers!

While might try explaining the contents of those files a bit better later

the primary initial thing I'd like to know/find out is if this executable

Also, haven't gotten around to trying to generate forms of executables

The basic command set is the following, but you can also be prompted this
during game play by just typing in something like ? and hitting enter:
 N, S, E, W, U and D - all directional commands - and last 2 are up and
 down
T and P - take and put, followed by item/object name

 I - review your inventory

Might have forgotten some as of now, and there might be various bugs in
 this
code, etc., but would still like to know if usable at all as such, and
 only
other trick is in a new location, you'll need to look for something
 before
knowing if it's there to take as such.

This is also just currently generating command line output, but on

Lastly, there are 2 of the items you'll need to pick up and go and place

T and P - take and put, followed by item/object name
C - communicate with an NPC - you'll be offered a list of possibles after
typing this and hitting enter
V - commit violence on an NPC - you'll be offered a list of possibles
after

typing this and hitting enter
L - look or when combined with an item name, it gives you the details - if
you've already picked it up
X - exit
R - review travel directions available
H - review your health
I - review your inventory

Might have forgotten some as of now, and there might be various bugs in

this
code, etc., but would still like to know if usable at all as such, and
only

other trick is in a new location, you'll need to look for something before
knowing if it's there to take as such.

This is also just currently generating command line output, but on windows
anyway, I can also tell it to talk using some screenreaders, or sapi etc.

at

some stage.

Lastly, there are 2 of the items you'll need to pick up and go and place
in

other locations/areas to finish off this test mission - and that's as far

as

will go for now...smile

Oh yes, and after placing one item, you'll then have another route/path
opened up for reaching the sort of final distination, but it won't really
currently advertise this as such unless you review directions again in a
certain place, or just try travelling again.

If you want to try this out, and let me know if the python to executable
plugin has worked at all in making this an actual command line executable
for windows machines, you can download the following:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13327195/mapData.zip
(roundabout 4Mb)

In there it would be best to currently run mapData.exe from an actual
command line since I see it sort of throws away the last, outro message if
you succeed on the quest as such, and while am busy putting in a way to
actually hide the contents of your mission's data files, you'll see that
there are some text files there that provide the information/background
for the whole (small) thing:

mapData.txt
mapDataObjects.txt
mapDataNPC.txt

While might try explaining the contents of those files a bit better later
on, there are sort of comments in there, that should make some sense, and
the primary initial thing I'd like to know/find out is if this executable
can run on many windows machines at all as such, since while it includes
the MS C runtimes needed for some things, I do have full versions of
visual studio.net installed on all my machines as such, so not 100% sure
what will happen on all machines, but anyway.

Also, haven't gotten around to trying to generate forms of executables for
other platforms as of yet, but let's see if even this will work for real
first.

The basic command set is the following, but you can also be prompted this
during game play by just typing in something like ? and hitting enter:
N, S, E, W, U and D - all directional commands - and last 2 are up and
down

T and P - take and put, followed by item/object name
C - communicate with an NPC - you'll be offered a list of possibles after
typing this and hitting enter
V - commit violence on an NPC - you'll be offered a list of possibles
after typing this and hitting enter
L - look or when combined with an item name, it gives you the details - if
you've already picked it up

X - exit
R - review travel directions available
H - review your health
I - review your inventory

Might have forgotten some as of now, and there might be various bugs in
this code, etc., but would still like to know if usable at all as such,
and only other trick is in a new location, you'll need to look for

Hello Briant,

Yes, we got your messages just fine. I don't know if you know this or
not, but the way the Audyssey list is setup everyone who signs up
automatically is placed on moderated status and his/her first post
must be approved by a list moderator. After one of the moderators
approves your posts you can then post as a full list member.
Understand, that this isn't done to be mean or unfair, but is handled
for security reasons. One reason we do this is to make certain the
person signing up is a real person and not a spammer attempting to
post spam to the list. So if you have been having difficulty posting
messages to the list that is probably the reason why.

Hi Lora,
I don't have all of the Spoonbil games up yet, but you can grab several
of them from my web site at
http://www.usagamesinteractive.com/downloads/spoonbill-games/
and that might give you a good start.

there is no reason for this thing to not work as the xpsetup using it on xp

ryan I c I have no idea what is causing this error.
but its definately not my code.
if you have xp, tell me and I will make a test file for you and you can get

but really this shouldn't fall over.
Ofcause if I do make another test file the archive will become even bigger.
I could make another test I suppose and ignore win9x totally but right now
everyone seems to be using this.
what I may do is try this now, it will be a seperate file, I won't be
zipping it up again and then I will just see.
however this is the last test build.
if all the issues work out I will reduce the setup to the main file and
people will have to select their own folders, but hmph. I won't be making
2-4 installers every version, its the principal of it.

ok.
run all the installers again except the vista installer do any of them get the

get back to me.
if this works I will do one more compile.
this will have no isstool hacking in it and no processed text.
no preprocesser defs or anything.
if that does not work not sure what will.
I'll even shove the compression some.

Re: [Audyssey] Test

2008-11-28 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi Jose,
Your subscription is fine. Remember the guidelines clearly state that
the first post to this list must b approved by the list owner or list
moderator. So if you unsubscribe and resubscribe for whatever reason the
next time you post an e-mail to the list Raul, Kevin, or I must approve
it before it will go to the main list. So if you don't see your posts
going through there is a good chanse mailman sees you are a first time
poster and it is routed to one of the mods for approval. Future posts
after that should be fine unless the person in question was put on
moderated status which you are not.

Cheers!

Re: [Audyssey] test

2008-11-07 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Hanna,
I have just corrected your Audyssey subscription. What happens is
first time posters have to be approved by the owner or moderators
before messages can get through to the list. However, the Audyssey
administration e-mails were not getting through to my e-mail so I was
never notified by mailman that there was anything waiting on my
approval. I have just logged in and corrected everything, and have
updated your subscription to full member.
Cheers.

Hi folks,
sorry for this, I've been having some weird problems with my ISP lately,
forcing some of my e-mails to be terribly delayed and some others not even
to be delivered at all. Among these were a few messages to this list. I just
wanna see if this gets delivered and when. Also, Liam, I'm not even sure if
my private message to you was delivered properly yesterday...
Thanks, and once again my apologies,

Firstly I lossed the message he sent me on the game because well I killed
it and was getting other stuff and the download was to slow.
I posted heaps to him and the list but no link, i then got scared I was
spamming so wrote a letter asking.
No one on list had the link and I was worried that things were not as
 there seemed.
shane, do you however have the link to the latest supersport package?
if you could send it to me I'd really appreciate it.
my funny bowling is not registered.
I wander who else I can contact, sky tailer who I know is a tester is not
 around either.
 So I wander whats happened.
 Igor is usually fast.
I just hope he hasn't died or something drastic like that.
In the middle of a test.

You are coming through fine. However, in the future any questions like
this should be directed to [EMAIL PROTECTED] We can verify if
you have been bouncing or not smile.

In any case, it's working.

Re: [Audyssey] test

2006-10-27 Thread Nicol
Ok all! no need for any reply. I received this message on both my mailboxes
at work and at home. so it means there was something else wrong with that 2
messages I sent to the list. Hopefully it went through now.
Sorry again for this test.

 Hi all
Sorry for this test.Luckily my problem is not as big as I suspected!
 I
still receive mail from this list to my home address, but posts I send
 to
the list from my home address doesn't go through.
NO need for everyone to reply. If thomas or raul or any other one person
 can
reply that I just can find out where the problem lies.
 thanks
